VMS CEO Frustrated as Local Staffing Agencies Reject Low-Ball Rates
Chuck Johnson, CEO of AAA Vendor Management Services, expressed frustration at a recent press gathering over local staffing agencies’ refusal to supply workers at reduced rates.
“What is it with these agencies?” Johnson questioned. “They seem to expect fair compensation for recruiting and screening workers. Don’t they want to be treated like commodities anymore?”
In response, Gloria Allman, owner of a local staffing agency, commented on the long-standing practice of some agencies accepting challenging VMS conditions. “For years, some agencies was always willing to endure low rates, tedious data entry, delayed payments, and one-sided contracts. I never understood it.”
Allman noted that many agencies have now shifted their focus to clients who value quality service. “It seems they’ve finally found clients willing to pay a premium for top talent.”
